Q charges (which may or may not be fuel surcharges) are generally imposed by the airline that filed the fare bainst which the ticket is issued. CX does not price ZED against filed fares but must pull some information from the OAL published commercial fare rules. Q, like YQ & YR, cannot be collected on ZED tickets, unless it is imposed by a government or airport authority like the HKG airport Q charge.[/b]
Thanks for the info - I dare say the HKG Q is where she got confused and did not manually remove the Q from the fare she quoted me.

I had a friend at Southwest and another friend in ticketing at my own airline re-quote me at the same lower rate, then had to find a tactfull way to ask the person to re-check it without saying it was wrong!
