    here's the updated scoop
Your outbound is excellent--you're second with a bunch of buddy pass riders under you (that's correct, yes??)

there's only one NRSA listed for any of those inbound flights.

all seats after / are auth to sell, so you can guess the no show factor. wt/bal can be an issue

I was just talking to a co-worker today about Quito. Check out vrbo.com We saw a 6 bedroom 6 bath house with a fireplace in every bedroom for 850.00 for a week. WOW. I know you don't need that much, but that should give you an idea of the cost of places down there.

No BOG for me this time!
I was just at the DL counter and they said the flights look horrible.
So much for nobody flying due to the economy!

I'm surprised they said that unless they are not allowing you to sit in BE?
There are 10+ seats each flight in BE, but while coach is showing negative numbers, they are still selling seats.
    Go figger!

The Agent is probably not familiar enough to know that they overbook real bad to South America.

I am sure I could get on but will wait for a more open time.

    Thanks for your assistance!

It is just gonna be my point of vue.
I have been to all the countries of south America except Chile, Venezuela and Paraguay. I find Ecuador less sad and depressing than Peru and Bolivia
Like most of the big capitals Quito is ok but I find the small towns more intersting.
People here are really nice and have a very good sens of humour, the food is very average.
Cuenca south of Quito is nice and interesting (you can get a plane ticket on Aerogal for cheap and the view is spectacular), Otavalo 1 hour north by bus is a huge craft nice market, very nice.
If you want to see the edge of the rain forest go to Baeza 5 hours by bus from Quito, try to go to Banos few hours by bus.
One thing watch your purse around the bus terminal people slashed my wife's purse in a local bus I noticed something suspect but did not see them acting (she had notihng valuable in it) otherwise the city is safe and laid back.
    Have a good trip

Go to Machu Piccu. If you're going to go that far and high up in altitude.
