Thread: Easter Island

I want to do a marathon on every continent, Easter Island is my South America one. (My first was Athen, Greece. It was amazing and ended in the 1896 Olympic stadium and I entered to Chariots of Fire playing on the PA system.) I walk, I don't run though so it's not such an issue. The race entry does include 3 dinners including at least 1 cultural/dance celebration which on its own would probably be around $100. Even a regular race in the states costs about $100-$150. This is the main issue I have for going.

For my hotel, I had one booked for $44 that was listed as #5 out of 22 "hotels" on the island. Then I looked on hostelworld.com and found a hostel with a private room, shared bathroom and free breakfast for $34. I could also do a dorm style for $17 a night.

I called LAN and it looks like I would be fine going in and out as long as they don't do some form of payload optimization.

Does anyone else work for DL and know how many seats usually go toward payload optimization in and out of SCL?
