I'm kind of spread on this one. I don't think they'll bounce back past their peak. MEM, CLE, MKE, PIT - all the small-ish midwestern (give or take) hubs are dying with consolidations and mergers across the industry. That said, CLE is a pretty big area relatively speaking. I can definitely see other airlines picking up on service from their own hubs. But not enough to fully bounce back. I guess I can see CLE trying to bring back hub service, but who would take it? It's really the regional flights that are going. Sure, Southwest or Frontier would have a great canvas to work with, but that regional concourse can't take those 737/A320s. The others, with regional service? Not seeing that happening anytime soon. AA and US are busy with their merger, DL already has CVG and DTW, and UA... well, that's obvious.
Crap, now I'm wishing I changed my vote.
