Please tell me what the codeshare partner term means as far as non revs. I am retired delta and see Air France is a codeshare partner with us. Do we receive a discount on these flights? if so how do i go about getting it. I am going to France in Oct. so I was wondering if i should buy a backup.
Thanks
Carol

Usually codeshare means nothing for non-revs. You have to check with Delta's travel office to see what your interline agreement with Air France is. You may have to buy an ID90 (90% of of FULLY REFUNDABLE UNRESTRICTED fare usually) to standby on Air France flights.

Delta retirees are eligible for ID96 non-rev on Air France...on DeltaNet's Pass Travel page it will give you a list of all airlines that Delta can non-rev on and then break it down as to "who" (ie..parents - retirees - children - etc) within the Delta family can non-rev on that airline..

Delta Flyer--does carol need scrub passes to go for CDG? I try to avoid CDG and with the new destinations like PRG and BUD it's hardly necessary, but I still keep one folded in the emergency pocket of my handbag--never know when a trip to France is going to break out!

Thank you all for your responses. It is coming home to the US that I am concerned about.
If I do buy ID96 passes may I try standby on Delta first and if we get bumped go to Air France? Or do I have to list on Air France and only stand by for them? And,
What is a scrub pass?
Thanks for the info.

Scrub passes are manually written non-rev tickets for travel on Delta - I have never been through CDG myself but the folks I work with say sometimes they ask for the paper pass and sometimes they dont...Always a good idea to travel with one just in case..
You can buy ID96 on Air France and try Delta first, if you make it on Delta then the ID96 can be refunded...

Thank you delta flyer member..Now, if I do not get on Delta and I do have an ID90 pass on AF.in my bag... Should I just go to the AF counter after I have been bumped off delta and list then?
Or, should I list on AF the night before?
thank again

Not familiar with the policies of AF for non-rev listing, but I would list the night before just in case...

You do not need to list with AF (at least it was still like that 2 monthes ago) but it is recommended to avoid being the last on the priority list.
Attention if you are not an AF employee it is impossible to list in France I always do it from the Usa, you call the regular number and ask for their nonrev desk, in french it is called "GP".

my 2 cents worth again for getting out of France. I don't know where in the US you're going, nor what part of France you'll be in, but I continue to avoid CDG if at all possible, and usually do Nice (NCE)-JFK on Delta. Have always had good luck on that in the off-season (never tried it in summer). I maybe shouldn't be divulging it, since you may be taking my seat over on Oct. 18. but what are friends for?
