I'm a 9E parent, with some of DL ZED experience, primarily JFK-NCE-JFK, and once BDL-LAX (when that was still available). My experience has been that DL has always tried to make room up front for us when possible. Out of about 10 flts, I'd guess we've lucked out maybe 4 times. Good luck to you, let us know how it went, and bon voyage. Btw, I'm curious how thngs will be after the NW-DL merge..looks like we may get LESS chance of upgrading on what are now DL flts, because NW almost never upgrades us. Can't complain, though, non-rev is still a wonderful privelege no matter what class.[/b]
Thanks for the info. 9E employee here, too. I have heard that DL tries to accomodate non-rev's but just want to make sure. As of now, NWA has plenty of seats open so I'll likely go ahead and fly WBC on the 747 and get a backup ZED ticket from ICN-ATL on KE (for some reason DL flies there non-stop but can't find the return back on DL non-stop)
As for the merger, good question. I just hope we have a job (ramper, here!). Will be interesting. Yeah, my experiences have been NWA will not upgrade employees without paying the appropriate fare. You're right...non-rev'ing is great on NWA!
