A guy gets married suddenly the spouse whom never touched an airplane nor travelled free before suddenly bumps an active employee just because her new husband has more time than they? Most absurd thing I ever heard of.
Then employee children should have no rights either, following that logic. They never flew on pass privs before they were born. He earned the pass priv and by marriage, she has same rights. I ahve left the gate and gone home when I was taking a frivolous trip (more than once) since there were lots of uniformed employee trying to commute w/few seats. I will not relinquish my seat for our vacation travel, however, and will certainly use my high priority (S2) when I need it. I get 6 /yr. My husband commutes and he's typically goes in very early, double commutes or overnight to make a work trip. That's his responsibility, not another employee spouse's. If a spouse is required to be accompanied by employee then that's TWO seats taken, possible denying 2 commuters or 2 someones having to get back to work (from their personal trip?) Hogwash. Not logical at all.
