Again ... depends on the carrier and your airline's bilatearl agreements. If your airline's relationship with EK, for example, is IET (meaning your employing airline issues the interline ticket for travel on the OAL, the traditioanl process but eTicket not paper), then the refund process is dependant on how quickly your airline issues the refund. If the relationship is not IET, thus the ticket issued by the transporting airline, in this case EK, then the refund is turned around based on EK's refund process. Same with form of payment, if your relationship is IET for employees then your airline issues the ticket so FOP is whatever your airline accepts. If its transporting carrier ticketing, then FOP is determined by the transporting airline.
