Top Burgers Around the World - Articles - Departures

I wish they'd put a pic of the South African Burger--wonder what they're hiding? I'll pass on ANY haggis burger. EWWW
But the article made me hungry for burgers. Guess what's on the grill tonight? I'm thinking caramelized onions, my homemade pickles and tartar sauce, smoked provolone and lettuce. YUM

    And haggis is OK?
Frisch's Big Boy restaurants in CVG area all serve 2 double decker w/famous their tartar sauce. They sell the sauce at all the major groceries. It's just like pickles and mayo! Decided on chili mayo instead since Boss ate all the tartar sauce w/leftover crispy fish from last nite (for breakfast!). C'mon--some of those burgers have EGGS on them. YUKOLA.

Fatburger (LAX) makes a beautiful egg burger. I've also had a pineapple/egg burger in BNE.

I have a difficult enough time dealing with the concept of pineapple on pizza, but on a burger? UGH. I always consider ordering a club sandwich overseas but even at the major chain hotels, they put an egg on it. Sorry, I love eggs and egg sandwiches but I want my club to be "pure". That's like saying, I'll have a Cobb salad with tuna--it's no longer a Cobb salad...

The Vortex in ATL has a good burger with fried eggs on it.

Ok, as many of you know my all time favorite burger is In-N-Out: animal style.
However sometimes I do sample other burgers, and I've found a good one in Vegas, at the ……….. wait for it …………
“Le Burger Brasserie-Sports Grille” at the Paris Hotel.
*waiting for you to recover from the shock*
What makes the burger so good is that you create your own burger, choosing from a variety of meats - beef, chicken, lamb, salmon (there’s also a veggie burger), toppings and cheeses (it is a French restaurant after all).
I went for Kobe beef, smoked bacon, caramelized onions, with goat cheese on a caramelized onion bun (buns are baked in house) - I’m a creative genius!

But if money is no object- the grill’s signature dish is the “777 Burger”- Kobe beef and Maine lobster, caramelized onions, imported Brie cheese, crispy pancetta, and 100-year aged balsamic, served with a bottle of Rose Dom Perignon Champagne- cost $777.
    Now you can faint!

Oh yeah! The wife and I stayed at Bally's after the wedding, which is connected to Paris and that restaurant. When I saw their Paris burger I got really excited. Brie, carmelized onions, and bacon. All on a burger. Yum. Unfortunately, when we arrived they were at closing cut-off (places in Vegas close down at night?!?). I was so heartbroken. Ended up making my own equivalent at home. It was good, but I'll always wonder what would have been.

Bally’s, isn’t there a tequila bar that’s open all night? Don't tell me you missed that.
